Rolling into Winter
Greetings members,
As we come into winter and the days get colder and darker earlier, we wanted to provide some announcements.
Winter Hours
After discussion amongst the Board and members at the last three Board meetings, the Board settled on updated pool hours of 6am - 6pm, effective November 7th. Usually this change doesn't occur until December 21, but due to lack of usage the Board elected to move up this change. There are no changes to hours in the gym. We very much thank all members who showed up to the Board to discuss possible ideas and changes.
Club Clean Up Day
The Board will be hosting a Club Clean Up Day in early 2024 to remove unused items and trash and prune trees and shrubbery. Exact TBD, but we will let all members know once decided. We would love member participation to make the Club the best it can be.
Leadership Change
We want to let members know that our long time manager, Carol, has retired effective the end of October. We thank Carol very much for all her efforts and dedication for the over 20 years she was with the Club. The Board will be putting out a job advertisement towards the end of the year and having an interview process to follow, with the intent of having a new manager in place in the spring of 2024. In the meantime, the Board has dispersed the duties amongst themselves and we ask that all members continue to use the Club respectfully and clean up after themselves.
Email Change
The main contact for the Club will be formally moving to manager@woodacreimprovementclub.com effective December 1. Please use this email going forward as it is already being monitored. For any Board issues, members can contact board@woodacreimprovementclub.com.
Events and Parties
As a reminder the Club is available for rental for any events or parties. Members do receive a discount on the rental rates. Please inquire to email contact above for any dates in mind. The weekends in December are filling up fast and we already have some dates booked for 2024.
Also, be on the lookout for upcoming WIC sponsored events and fundraisers. We thank all who came out to the End of Summer Concert in September and we plan on having more events like this in the months to come.
One Last Thing
We are doing our best to increase the quality of our communications with all of our members. We suspect that an occasional email – similar to this one – that includes updates, seasonal changes to hours, and other goings-on will be the most efficient way. As of now, we are still working on obtaining emails for all our members. If you have a second email for your household – and would like to add it to our list – please send it our way.
